Slaughter is one of the darkest and broken stories I have ever read. It's a powerful mix of violence and love. It's 99% darkness and 1% light. But that 1% worth it all. If you are not prepared to live that intensity of cruel violence and raw scenes, don't even start it. But if you decide to read Straighter you won't regret it. And yes, it will bring you from heaven to hell and back. The story cut like a knife, enjoying it, but also heal deeply as well. It's full of twists, so it will hooked you from the first page.
Beside it, you will meet two exceptional characters. Their strength is going to take your breath away. And their story is made of sugar and blood. But even in the darkness their hearts don't stop to belong to one other. Even when they both try ( and succeed to hate each other), to fight and hurt each other, even then their hearts are invisibility but powerfully linked.
Avery is dangerous, is raw, is fearless, but is also passionate and possessive.
But he also has a soft side, or a weakness, even when it may ruin him, even when he shouldn't: his " Bunny". Pres, or Bunny, like he love to call her is for sure one of the strongest heroines I met. Her dream Unexpectedly turns into her worst nightmare. And it literally break her. Body and soul. Ripped both out. Until she became another person, the lowest person. But in her darkness there still a sparkle. At the beginning it doesn't look that way, but slowly it will be her main reason to keep fighting, to keep trying, to believe in love, again.
It's impressive what that girl has been through, and how she find the courage to challenge her destiny, to provoke him. Because all started with him, Avery, and never stopped being about him. Even when she wasn't his, he kept owning her heart.
Slaughter is a story of tears and passion. I guarantee you will survive and love it as much as I did.

Big blue eyes stare into mine with a look of terror. Good, she recognizes me. Even in her drunken state, and eleven years later, she still knows who I am.
Her pink lips part, inhaling sharply. Her entire body goes rigid. I take a step toward her as she pulls me in just as she always did. I never could control myself with her. But this time has to be different. I have to be in total control of myself and of her.
She doesn’t move.
She doesn’t blink.
She doesn’t breathe.
Deciding to close the gap completely, I take two more steps until my body is close enough to feel the heat radiating from hers. Her long, dark hair drapes over one shoulder, and it looks good on her. She loved when I used to run my hands through her short hair and play with it. Now I just want to wrap it around my fists and force her to her knees. We never did fuck. We made love—always soft and slow. Now when I picture us in bed together, she is bound and gagged. That way, she won’t be able to stop all the sadistic shit that comes to mind.
I’ve become one of those men I swore to never be! All because of her.
I want her to beg me.
